Services 

Agreed upon services reflected in an invoice may include:

Set up

This covers everything required to create and set up a screen on press, ready to print, and may include (but is not limited to):  Confirming print ready artwork, creating film positive(s), processing screens, setting up the screen and workpiece on press, and registration of additional colors.

Some container surfaces may incur additional pre-treatment costs.

Set-up fees do not include sampling, color matching or artwork/design changes.

A Small Boat Press Inc. is not responsible for the evaluation or correction of spelling and layout of Client provided files.

The Client is responsible for providing print ready artwork file(s) that meets one or both of the following specifications:

a.  Raster-Based Artwork:  

-  Portable Document Format (.PDF)

-  Adobe Photoshop (.PSD)

If sending .PSD/.PDF files, please make sure that the artwork is scaled accordingly and the resolution is set to 300dpi or higher. All text must have either embedded fonts or the text layer rasterized. 

 Any images submitted at less than 300 dpi are considered low resolution and will not be reproduced until the artwork file meets the correct requirements.

b.  Vector-Based Artwork:

- Adobe Illustrator (.AI)

- Encapsulated Post-Script (.EPS)

If sending .AI/.EPS files, please make sure to ‘create outlines’ around all text.

Please do not paste .JPG images inside of an Illustrator file.

Upon request, A Small Boat Press Inc. will provide a photo of the blank with the film positive, in its intended placement, at no charge. If The Client is reviewing this mock-up for approval, they are required to provide confirmation within 24 hours of receipt. Additional time taken to approve the mock-up will not count against A Small Boat Press Inc.’s standard turnaround time and they will not be responsible for making up those lost dates.


Pre-Production Sampling 

In cases where The Client requires a single or small run of samples for pre-approval (before production can begin), those samples will incur charges separate from the standard Pre-Press, Set-Up and Production. Revisions to the samples that require new films or screens will be at an additional cost. Any time taken for shipping and client revision or approval of samples does not count against the standard production turnaround timeline.

Color Matching / INK FEE

Color matching refers to mixing ink to match a specific Pantone Matching System number for Pantone Solid Coated and Uncoated. Codes or colors from any other matching system will be converted into the closest Pantone Solid Coated/Uncoated color. All colors are mixed by hand and as such A Small Boat Press Inc. cannot guarantee an exact match. 

Artwork / FILE PREP

If the Client's artwork is not print ready and the Client’s designer is not able or available to make the necessary preparations, additional charges may apply for A Small Boat Press Inc. to prep the artwork.

Production Printing

The completion of set up and printing on the full quantity of the project by A Small Boat Press Inc.

The Set-Up fee for reprints requested within 12 months of the original printing will be 50% off.

RECEIVING

When blanks are purchased by the Client and shipped to A Small Boat Press Inc. A Small Boat Press Inc. is NOT RESPONSIBLE for any loss or damage incurred in transit.

It is the Client’s responsibility to confirm how the blanks will be shipped and delivered to A Small Boat Press Inc. - specifically in the case of glass/breakables. In cases where a company ships containers loose in a bag, stuffed in a box or wrapped in shrink film there will be an additional charge for packing materials. A Small Boat Press Inc. is NOT RESPONSIBLE for the Client’s blanks that arrive broken, scuffed, scratched, or otherwise blemished from improper packing,. These damages will be reported to the Client after inspection of the blanks once received and prior to print production.

Pick Up / DROP OFF

A Small Boat Press Inc. is happy to provide free Pick Up and Drop Off services to Clients in Pittsburgh, PA.

Client pick up of completed project is available by appointment only. The Client will NOT send an un-passengered rideshare (uber, lyft, etc.) in lieu of a courier to pick up the final project. A Small Boat Press Inc. WILL NOT hand off the Client’s project into a car that does not contain the Client or a representative of the Client / Client’s organization. 

FULFILLMENT

All orders include a Fulfillment fee of 10% each project’s set up and printing costs. This covers all necessary administrative, communications, receiving, prepping and repacking activities not listed as a line item.

A Small Boat Press Inc. will re-pack all containers in the boxes/materials in which they arrived for final shipment to the Client. *Exceptions noted above in RECEIVING (if items arrive shrink wrapped or loose in a bag).  If it is deemed necessary to purchase additional boxes or packing materials to ship the completed project to A Small Boat Press Inc.’s standards, those costs will be passed onto the Client.

Shipping

A Small Boat Press Inc. primarily ships with UPS and includes insurance based on each package’s value. Shipping can NOT be quoted prior to the project’s completion. Tracking will be provided to the Client upon receipt of payment in full.

Original Design

Original Design refers to digital content created by A Small Boat Press Inc. for print. When applicable, Original Designs created for the Client by A Small Boat Press Inc. will be subject to the following:

1.) Design rate includes two rounds of revisions, as needed. Revision 1 is due within five business days of receipt of Original Design. Revision 2 is due within five business days of receipt of revised Original Design. Projects due sooner than 2 weeks will be subject to a rush fee. 

2.) The rush fee will be determined by the timeline, quantity and complexity of the Project.

Timeline and Payment

All prices quoted are valid for 30 days from the date stated on the quote. 

Goods and services are taxable where applicable. 

Standard turnaround is 2-3 weeks from receipt of 50% deposit, approved print-ready artwork, and blanks (items to be printed).

The Client will be invoiced twice.

​​1.) A 50% deposit, approved print-ready artwork, and blanks (items to be printed) are required to initiate work. By paying this invoice, you are agreeing to and beholden to A Small Boat Press Inc.'s Terms and Conditions.

2.) Payment in full is due before or upon receipt of completed Project. Projects will not be shipped until the final invoice is paid in full.

Projects due sooner than 3 weeks may be subject to a rush fee. The rush fee will be determined by the timeline, quantity and complexity of the project.

A bounced check or returned payment will result in the Client incurring a $15.00 fee.

Default in Payment

The Client shall assume responsibility for all collection of legal fees necessitated by default in payment. 

Changes

The Client shall be responsible for making additional payments for changes requested by the Client beyond the original service.

Cancellation

In the event of cancellation of the service, a cancellation fee for work completed, based on the contract price and expenses already incurred shall be paid by the Client.

Rights of Use

The Client is granted a perpetual, irrevocable, non-transferable (except in the event of a merger, divestiture or acquisition of Client of their assets) license hereunder to use and reproduce all completed Projects and/or Original Designs. (See Section 4. Original Design)  Ownership of the identity, branding and assets will transfer to the Client upon receipt of full payment as outlined in Section 1. 

A Small Boat Press Inc. is granted a perpetual, irrevocable, non-transferable use of photos, copy, and proof of work of Client’s deliverable on A Small Boat Press Inc.’s website, social media accounts, and email campaigns. 

Credit Lines

A Small Boat Press Inc. and any other creators may receive a credit line with any editorial usage. Similar credit lines are to be given with other types of usage. Credit lines should read:

Entire Terms and Conditions and Modifications

These Terms and Conditions represent the entire agreement of the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof. Modification of these Terms and Conditions must be written, except that the invoice may include, and the Client shall pay fees or expenses that were orally authorized in order to progress promptly with the work.

Code of Fair Practice

The Client and A Small Boat Press Inc. agree to comply with the provisions of the Code of Fair Practice. 

Limitation of Liability

The Client agrees that it shall not hold A Small Boat Press Inc. or its agents or employees liable for any incidental or consequential damages that arise from the Client’s failure to perform any aspect of the Project in a timely manner, nor those caused by third parties such as shipping carriers or other courier services. The maximum liability of one party to another under this agreement for indirect or direct damages shall be the amounts paid or payable to A Small Boat Press Inc. by Client hereunder (and any legal fees necessary to recover such amounts). 

Dispute Resolution 

Both parties shall indemnify each other from and against any and all suits, claims, demands, liabilities, damages, expenses (including, but not limited to, reasonable attorneys’ fees), costs, and judgements of any nature whatsoever arising from or attributable to the breach of these Terms and Conditions. 

Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

The Client’s payment on the deposit invoice shall serve as evidence to the acceptance of A Small Boat Press Inc.’s Terms and Conditions.
